PORTFOLIO / Off The Rails
NEXT PAGE
Off The Rails is a Pittsburgh-style BBQ and drafthouse located in Verona, Pennsylvania. What began as a food truck evolved into a permanent restaurant built inside a converted gas station along Allegheny River Boulevard. Rooted in local history and driven by passion, the brand reflects hard work, craft, and community.
PROJECT SCOPE & DIRECTION
I met Ken when Off The Rails was still a concept. He shared his vision for a bold, authentic BBQ destination inspired by Verona’s railroad heritage and the transition from a mobile operation to a brick-and-mortar space.
Working together, we shaped the logo and color palette into a visual identity that feels raw, industrial, and unmistakably local. The identity was designed to carry naturally across signage, menus, and merchandise, staying true to the spirit of the space and the food.
Special thanks to Ken Shields for the trust and collaboration throughout the process.
If clarity, consistency, and execution matter ...
